 Spring in Ibiza

EVERY year, DJs based in Ibiza such as Godskitchen, Paul Van Dyk and DJ Tiesto release original tracks and remixes through one album each year. They usually do this during summer and they usually release previews for each track during spring. Thus, they must be working on those soon-to-be hits all winter long. Now that spring is approaching, liveliness is in the air as Ibiza DJs will be releasing previews of their hits. They will release them via YouTube, via music radio stations in the island and of course via the nightly house parties here. Of course, house parties in Ibiza are definitely safe because the Spanish Guardia Civil is always on hand to make sure that there are no illicit drug transactions done there and that people who go there always do clean parties only. Of course, scenes of romance are tolerated as long as nobody is held against his or her own will.

Spring is all the livelier here in Ibiza because it is Lenten time here and most of the partygoers are foreigners like Scandinavians and English. But the natives here do not party during Lent. Instead, they fast and party only during Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ as well as during Pentecost in commemoration of the Holy Spirit’s descent upon every person in the world.

Even though there is a burgeoning real estate crisis in the United States, here in Ibiza, the real estate sector remains to be prolific. There are different residential structures up for sale from vacant lots to bungalow-type single-level homes to vacation retreats to villas and manors. Noel Gallagher – that Oasis dude that we know from the mid-90s – has a plush house in Ibiza that he wants to sell. The price of the property is not yet disclosed but once you’ve bought the house, you will be neighbor with James Blunt. So right now, it may be prudent to arrange with an English-speaking real estate lawyer for a home inspection tour in Noel Gallagher’s house. Don’t worry – being a place swarming with English-speaking tourists – there are lots of English-speaking real estate lawyers here in Ibiza. And speaking of English, there are also lots of English language schools here in the island. So if you have just retired from England, investing in an English language school here in Ibiza wouldn’t hurt, right?
